Business Development Manager

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining our existing strong client relationships, and driving growth across our product and service offerings.

This role demands a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a proven track record in business development and sales.

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify new business opportunities, emerging market trends, and potential risks.
  • Analyse competitor strategies, market share, and performance to inform business development initiatives.
  • Regularly review industry publications, attend trade shows, and engage with industry networks to stay updated on market developments.
  • Develop and implement innovative lead generation strategies including PPC and SEO and help to build to build a robust sales pipeline and outgoing sales team.
  • Utilize CRM tools and sales software to track leads, manage customer data, and streamline the sales process.
  • Engage in cold calling, networking, and attending industry events to generate new business leads with both corporate clients and SME’s.
  • Conduct sales meetings and presentations with prospective clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and loyalty
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to ensure their needs are met and to identify additional opportunities for growth.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Facilitate client feedback sessions to gather insights and improve service delivery.
  • Prepare detailed business proposals, RFP responses, and sales presentations that clearly articulate the value proposition of our products/services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals are accurate, comprehensive, and align with client requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ideally a background in upskilling and provision of short courses (although full training would be provided for the right candidate)
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
