Basic Heating and Hot Water System Design & Specification Course
Learn how to design energy efficient heating and hot water systems.
This 2/3-day training course provides an introduction to domestic heating system design, ideal for newly qualified plumbing, heating or renewables installers.
This course is a stepping stone for operatives who want to complete a full diploma with the Institute of Domestic Heating and Electrical Engineers (IDHEE), part of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Installers (CIPHE).
Course information
This course provides a good level of understanding for the design and specification of basic domestic heating systems, as well as size hot water storage cylinders. It is ideal for those moving into the renewables sector or expanding their services to include the installation of ground or air source heat pumps and/or underfloor heating.
Accepted by IDHEE as a unit credit, successful completion of the course will save two-days attendance on the full diploma course. It is based upon the CIPHE Domestic Heating Design Guide (DHDG).
Training is mainly theory based with some practical work. You will be assessed using a design scenario task and multiple-choice assessment.
On completion of this course, you will receive a Foundation certificate from LCL Awards.
