Course information

This Level 3 Combined Initial Verification & Periodic Inspection training course (2391-52) covers legislation, principles and practices required for the verification of electrical installations in domestic and commercial settings, including testing, commissioning and certification.

During the course, you will receive practical training, including work on:

  • Purpose-built electrical rigs; and
  • Live equipment within a fully functioning plant room.

You will also cover theory relating to health & safety, industry regulations and best-practice.

At the end of day 5, you will complete a written multiple-choice assessment and three practical tasks.

On completion of this course, you will receive City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate.

Depending on individual requirements, we also offer two alternative training routes:

  • 2391-50 Initial Verification – suitable for operatives who wish to verify new installations and do not require the Periodic Inspection and Testing element.
  • 2391-51 Periodic Inspection – suitable for operatives who have previously gained qualifications in Initial Verification and wish to expand their skills to include reporting on the condition of existing electrical installations.

There are no formal pre-requisites, however, you should have suitable knowledge of electrical theory and ideally be working within the electrical industry or a related sector. If you have any questions or wish to discuss your requirements, give us a call on 01969 666111 and speak to our training department.

Candidates will require the new 18th Edition book, Guidance Note 3 (18th Edition) and the revised 18th Edition On-site Guide. We can provide these books for you at cost - please contact our training department team on 01969 666111 for further details.
