Safe Isolation of Electrical Installations

This 1-day training course has been developed to deliver essential electrical safety skills to installers working in related industries, for example, plumbers, heating engineers, kitchen fitters and appliance installers.
The course is certified by LCL Awards and underpinned by requirements laid down in the Electricity at Work Regulations and BS7671.
Course information
The course covers the Safe Working Procedure for the Isolation of Electrical Supplies. Successful candidates will gain an understanding of the safe isolation of electrical circuits and how to apply it on site.
During the course, you will receive practical training and cover theory relating to health & safety, industry regulations and best-practice.
Following completion of the training course, candidates will be assessed by a short practical assessment with oral questioning.

There are no formal pre-requisites, however, you should be working within the wider building services industry and have a knowledge of electrical installations.
Training, assessment and certification and course materials are included.
The course consists of 1 day in-centre training.
Successful candidates will receive their LCL Awards certificate approximately four to six weeks following completion of the course.

- Identifying the current regulatory requirements and documents.
- Understanding the need for safe isolation of electrical circuits.
- Establishing a safe working procedure for the isolation of electrical supplies.
- Identifying and usage of the correct tools for isolating electrical installations.
- Applying the skills on realistic simulation.
