Nottingham Heat Pumps

For a limited time only*, plumbing and heating trades people in Nottingham can access heavily discounted heat pump training, providing an amazing opportunity to get involved in this growing marketplace. Delivered at Nottingham College by leading renewables training provider, GTEC, funding means that a package of courses that would usually cost £965 now costs just £140 (+ VAT)!

2022 is set to be a big year for Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) – The Boiler Upgrade Scheme, launching in April, will offer homeowners up to £5,000 towards the cost of an ASHP. And, with recent announcements about the rising cost of energy bills, more consumers will be looking for low cost, low carbon ways to heat and power their homes – ASHPs can offer significant savings for the right property.

By getting the training done now, installers in Nottingham will be ready to take advantage of the uptick in the area.

Griff Thomas, from GTEC, said: “End user demand is growing, spurred on by the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, a desire to ‘go green’ and reduce energy bills. At the moment, there are simply not enough trained engineers to meet the government’s target of 600,000 heat pumps installed annually by 2028.

“Plumbing and heating installers in Nottingham who take advantage of this heavily discounted training can take their place in this emerging marketplace, future proofing business’ as we move away from fossil fuels.”

What training is on offer?

Air Source Heat Pump training, plus WRAS Water Regulations and Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating (the latter two qualifications are optional). All three courses have a value of £965 + VAT.

The heat pump training is designed for candidates with experience in the plumbing and/or heating sectors, such as gas installers and plumbers. Some candidates may already have the WRAS and energy efficiency qualifications, in which case they can just undertake ASHP course.

All three qualifications help to become part of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). For homeowners to access the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, they must choose an MCS certified business to undertake the heat pump installation.

*Training must be completed by the end of March 2022.
