Online Insulation Course
GTEC’s energy efficiency training courses are delivered online, with the option to visit our dedicated centre in Hawes, North Yorkshire, to gain practical experience.
Training is designed for anyone; from homeowner DIYers looking to save on their energy bills, to heating engineers and other trades people wishing to help their customers make their homes warmer, cost-less and be more suitable for technologies like heat pumps.
Energy efficiency courses currently available:
- Introduction to Insulation, overview of the different insulation types and their benefits.
- Cold Roof Insulation – insulation between roof rafters
- Warm Room Insulation – surface insulation, using boards
- Draught Proofing – identification of draughts and measures to prevent them
More courses to be added soon, including external, flooring & cavity wall.

Training takes place online. Trainees have the option to gain practical experience at GTEC’s centre in Hawes, North Yorkshire. The practical element of the course is optional.
The amount of funding available will depend on demand, early registrants are more likely to get a greater amount of the training cost covered, up to 100%.
Funding has been secured through Midlands Net Zero Energy Hub.
Energy efficiency training is designed for anyone, there are no pre-requisites for the courses. Training is ideal for existing trades people as well as homeowners looking to improve the efficiency of their property.
