The ABBE Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Assessment qualification is intended for individuals employed in the built environment and construction industry. The Retrofit Coordinator is a mandatory role for all retrofit projects as outlined in PAS2035.

1. Experience Requirement

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the construction or built environment sector within the last 3 years.
  • Evidence of this experience must be provided, either through a CV or a letter from an employer.

2. Qualification Requirement
In addition, applicants must hold at least one of the following:

  • A professional qualification in a construction-related discipline such as architecture, surveying, engineering, construction management, or another subject relevant to managing or supervising construction and domestic projects.
  • An NVQ at Level 3 or higher, or at least 12 credits at this level, in a subject related to the management or supervision of construction and domestic construction projects. Applicants must also have experience within the building design or construction industry.
  • Successful completion of the AECB CarbonLite™ Retrofit Coordination (CLRrc) course, along with current employment in the building design or construction industry.

This qualification is made up of 12 mandatory units which have been allocated a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 170 hours.
