  • – Solar heated storage types (storage cylinders)
  • – Solar primary system types
  • – Basic solar heating system design and integration
  • – External and internal site survey, installation methods and materials
  • – Filling and commissioning
  • – Solar thermal system servicing and fault finding.

By the end of the complete course you will:

  • – Know the relevant regulations/standards and requirements relating to practical installation, testing and commissioning activities for solar thermal hot water system installation work
  • – Know the health and safety risks and safe systems of work associated with solar thermal hot water system installation work
  • – Know the types and layouts of solar thermal hot water systems
  • – Know the purpose of components used within solar thermal hot water system installations
  • – Know the types and key operating principles of solar collectors
  • – Know the requirements for the routine service and maintenance of ‘active’ solar thermal hot water systems
  • – Know how to diagnose faults in ‘active’ solar thermal hot water system installations
  • – Know how to rectify faults in ‘active’ solar thermal hot water systems
