On the eve of GTEC attending the InstallerShow, we announced a deal in conjunction with City Plumbing to offer a £160 voucher to installers attending our Air Source Heat Pump Training Course. Candidates can combine this voucher with the £500 grant funding to cover the £660 cost of the course; essentially allowing them to upskill for free. This is great news, especially considering the increasing demand for this type of eco-friendly heating and the current skills shortage.
Addressing The Skills Shortage
The government’s current decarbonisation targets are ambitious and can only be achieved if there is a significant increase in the number of heating engineers qualified to install air source heat pumps. As of the beginning of this year, there were only 3,000 qualified heat pump installers. However, at least 39,000 are needed to help the country reach these targets.
How To Claim The Offer
To benefit from this offer, installers must sign up for GTEC’s Air Source Heat Pump Installation Training course held at a City Plumbing Training Centre and pay £160. Candidates receive the City Plumbing voucher to redeem on the 1st day of this 3-day course.
Candidates can use the voucher in conjunction with the £500 grant funding GTEC already offered to cover the £660 cost of the course. This means installers can upskill for free.
According to our MD, Griff Thomas, “this deal not only underlines our great relationship with City Plumbing whose training centres we use to host our courses, it is also great news when it comes to addressing the skills gap in the industry.”
Why Train as an Air Source Heat Pumps Installer?
Air Source Heat Pumps are the heating technology that will help the UK meet its ambitious Net Zero targets. The government is pledging to deliver 600,000 heat pumps by 2028 and 1,9 million by 2035. It means demand for qualified installers is increasing rapidly and it is creating plenty of business opportunities for heating installers.
