Discussing the New IET Code for EESS
30th April at 11.30am - Griff Thomas will be discussing the new IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS), focussing on PAS 63100:2024, at Solar & Storage Live.
Safe Installation Practices for Battery Systems
With EESS growing in popularity (recent MCS statistics show there has been an over 700% rise in domestic battery installs in March 2024 compared with the same period in 2023), safety is of paramount importance. The latest edition of the IET Code of Practice for EESS, provides guidance on the safe and efficient way to design, install, commission, operate and maintain battery systems, in domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
Fire Safety Insights in EESS
The third edition brings all the latest developments in the EESS market up to date, including requirements for Island Mode idolaters and further guidance of fire safety and the location of batteries within an installation. Covering fire safety specifically, PAS 63100:2024 focuses on best practice for fire safe EESS installations.
During his session, Griff will explain what solar PV and battery system designers and installers need to consider to meet PAS 63100, including battery management, power conversion equipment (PCE) and fault management, plus how and where to install batteries safely.
