Course Description

Learn How to Create EPC’s

The C&G Domestic Energy Assessor qualification is the perfect foundation for you to build your energy rating business across all building areas. Becoming a DEA can provide;

  • A high earning potential
  • Flexible working hours
  • A rewarding career in a new & fascinating industry
  • A solid foundation for other qualifications, such as On-Construction Assessor or Commercial -Energy Assessor.

This course is aimed at those in possession of a basic understanding of domestic energy assessment and who wish to extend their knowledge, or those who have an interest in energy efficiency and are working, or looking for work, as an energy assessor in the construction sector. Completion of the course will provide you with a Level 3 Certification, increasing your credibility and giving you the competitive edge, as well as showing your customers that you are trained to the highest of standards.

What is the qualification about?

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is now required by law to be produced when any building is sold or let in the UK.

EPC’s can only be completed by qualified and accredited domestic energy assessors and an accredited assessor can deal with both the sales and lettings markets. DEAs collect the data on the dimensions, construction, heating and hot water provision of commercial and non-commercial buildings in order to produce an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

EPC’s are required when:

  • As part of a survey for ECO grants, funds and savings
  • A dwelling is sold or rented
  • Part of a Green Deal Advice Report
  • Solar PV is installed (FIT Scheme)
  • Solar Thermal & Heat Pumps are installed (RHI)

EPCs can only be completed by qualified and accredited domestic energy assessors. By completing the City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in domestic energy assessment you will be qualified to produce EPCs on all existing domestic properties.
